O.K. folks! I got a bit thrown off with my Ten Faces of Innovation series, but I’m back in the swing of it now. Here it is! The Experience Architects are people who focus relentlessly on creating remarkable customer experiences. They not only create remarkable experiences for customers, but employees as well. In the church world, we should strive to create remarkable experiences for our attendees, volunteers, and staff. Remarkable experiences engages the senses and use creative elements to their advantage. The Experience Architects fights to ward off the ordinary. Man! It is so easy to slip into the ordinary mold, even after you have been hitting a creative streak. We can get caught up in the routine of simply completing assignments that we loose our creative edge. Sermons, messages, lessons, music sets, and meetings come around so regularly and quickly, it’s easy to not focus on making them remarkable. Here’s the million dollar question: How can we turn something ordinary into something distinctive? What is that one thing that you can add to make the experience unforgettable?
